how dare you

Yes , I said it how dare you and by 'you' I mean my sons school district.

I love the city we live in, it is very up and coming and booming like crazy and another thing I really liked about moving here was the entire school district was a "uniform enforced" district.

Until today!!!!! well I guess until last Wednesday that is.

Here's the scoop..... I was sitting outside with our ( tell me everything the first minute we met) neighbor last night and her son informs us that the younger kids school was going to standard dress code, I was blown away.

How do the kids know what the rules are going to be before the parents do? So this morning after taking the boy to school I came home and called the office and was told "yes , we are implementing a standard dress code effective immediately".

Well the problem with that is I just purchased a shit load of uniform outfits and so did every other parent in our district and now you are going to tell us that effective now you can wear whatever you want to.

NO NO NO NO that is not the way to do this.

We met the teacher on Friday and it was 2 days post governing meeting and they already knew that the code was changing , why were we as the parents not told so we could go and get normal clothes for our kids?

Once I found out for sure I was at the store fighting off all the other moms trying to find clothes for my son to wear to school.

I am now the proud owner of 9 'uniform outfits' that are of no use to me ( money wasted ,flushed straight down the drain).

I am livid! And tempted to write a less than thankful letter to the district

Had to get that off my chest( ahhhh much better) ;)
