Going Camping.....

I can't remember the last time the words "lets go camping " came out of my mouth but it is soooooo much fun I can't stop saying it!

Now I am not the most earth friendly person I don't enjoy hugging trees but ever since we went camping last weekend I have not been able to get it out of my mind.


So this is how it started.......Fathers Day we are sitting at my brothers in-laws house when his wife says " we should go camping", I brushed the thought off just as quick as she had said it and then to my surprise she called me the next day and said "hey we are gonna go camping next weekend and you guys are going too".

So I had the task of convincing my husband that we are going to spend the next weekend in the great outdoors (he has never camped) and that it would be FUN!!!

Well by the time Friday rolled around I thought the kids would have said "we're going camping" would've drove me to the nut house but I was still sane and off we went to Sedona(Oak Creek).

It was beautiful we miss the exit so detoured to Flagstaff and then on to search out where in the hell my lead foot brother had gone and to out amazement we found him at the last camping spot open and then the fun started.

We had a spot just above the creek so the kids were in heaven as soon as they realized that the adults were tooo lazy to hike up and down to watch them so they pretty much stayed there the entire time ( it was bliss) while the adults sat around relaxing( drinking) and talking without interruption =]

So Nice!!!!!


Saturday we headed to Slide Rock and I jumped off a 15ft cliff very fun I wanted to continue jumping but I was dumped by everyone for a beer at the truck, so I slid with the kids down rocks I had slid down when I was a kid(Memories playing in my head) I had forgot just how slippery the rocks could be, but I managed not to fall on my ass!

Sunday was the pack up and go home day and we made a pit stop a the Trout Farm and let the kids catch a few trout , by the time we had 10 fish, my sil tells me " the fish are 8-12 dollars a piece and you can't catch and release if you catch em' you keep em'.

" HOLY SHIT!!!!

We are done fishing now!, we ended up with over 100 bucks in fish and I hate trout! the kids got a gross show from the Guts Guy he guts the fish in front of the kids and puts on a show for sure, they were sad to know we had caught several mommy -to- be fish =[ as the eggs came squirting out I hear" AWWWWW,EWWWWWW it was a girl and look at all the babies", ok kids lets go !!

So all in all it was a great time, just getting away and relaxing was awesome and I can't wait to do it again !
